AF40 contactors are designed for controlling power circuits up to 690 V AC and 220 V DC. They are primarily used for switching 3-phase motors and managing non-inductive or slightly inductive loads. Featuring an advanced electronic coil interface, AF contactors support a wide control voltage range—just four coil versions cover 24…500 V AC (50/60 Hz) or 20…500 V DC. This versatility enables a single coil to accommodate varying global voltage requirements without the need for coil replacement. AF contactors handle significant voltage fluctuations with ease and include built-in surge protection, eliminating the need for external suppressors. The AF series 1-stack 3-pole contactors have a compact block-type design and are equipped with 3 main poles along with provisions for front and side-mounted auxiliary contact blocks. These auxiliary contacts are mechanically linked, meeting the requirements of Annex L of IEC 60947-5-1, and include N.C. mirror contacts compliant with Annex F of IEC 60947-4-1. The control circuit can operate on either AC or DC, and a wide range of compatible accessories is available to enhance functionality.
