AF40 contactors are designed for controlling power circuits up to 690 V AC and 220 V DC. They are mainly used for switching 3-phase motors as well as non-inductive or slightly inductive loads. Featuring an advanced electronic coil interface, AF contactors can operate across a wide control voltage range—from 24 to 500 V AC (50/60 Hz) and 20 to 500 V DC—using just four coil variants. This allows a single coil to handle various voltage requirements used worldwide without the need for coil replacement. AF contactors are equipped with built-in surge protection, eliminating the need for external surge suppressors. The AF series includes 1-stack, 3-pole block-type contactors with three main poles and provisions for front or side-mounted auxiliary contact blocks. These auxiliary contacts are mechanically linked in compliance with IEC 60947-5-1 (Annex L) and include N.C. mirror contacts as per IEC 60947-4-1 (Annex F). Suitable for both AC and DC control circuits, AF40 contactors also support a wide range of compatible accessories, offering flexibility and reliability in various industrial applications.
