The UA30 3-pole contactors are designed for capacitor switching applications, specifically for capacitor banks where inrush current peaks do not exceed 100 times the nominal RMS current. The permissible power ratings are determined based on operational voltage and ambient temperature conditions, as outlined in the table below. Additionally, the table specifies the maximum peak current (Î) values that the contactor can handle.
To ensure safe operation, capacitors must be fully discharged, with a maximum residual voltage of ≤ 50V at the terminals, before re-energizing. Under these conditions, the contactors offer an electrical durability of up to 100,000 operating cycles.
