The AF09 4-pole contactors are designed for controlling power circuits up to 690 V AC and 440 V DC, making them ideal for non-inductive or slightly inductive loads such as resistance furnaces. Featuring an electronic coil interface, they support a wide control voltage range from 24 to 500 V AC (50/60 Hz) or 20 to 500 V DC with just four coils, enabling seamless global compatibility without requiring coil changes. These contactors efficiently handle large control voltage variations and include built-in surge protection, eliminating the need for additional suppressors. The AF series 4-pole contactors have a block-type design with two normally open (N.O.) and two normally closed (N.C.) main poles, along with front and side-mounted auxiliary contact blocks. The auxiliary contacts are mechanically linked, compliant with IEC 60947-5-1 Annex L, while the N.C. mirror contacts meet IEC 60947-4-1 Annex F standards. Designed for both AC and DC operation, they are compatible with a wide range of accessories. Note that the AF..-..-..-11 variant is not suitable for direct control by a PLC output and is available in select countries—consult your ABB representative for availability.
