The AF40 4-pole contactors are designed for controlling power circuits up to 690 V AC and 440 V DC, making them ideal for managing non-inductive or slightly inductive loads such as resistance furnaces. These contactors feature an electronic coil interface that supports a wide control voltage range from Uc min to Uc max, with only four coils covering voltages between 24–500 V AC (50/60 Hz) or 20–500 V DC. This design allows AF contactors to handle large control voltage variations, enabling a single coil to be used across different global control voltages without requiring coil changes. They also include built-in surge protection, eliminating the need for additional surge suppressors. The AF40 series features a block-type design, with 4 N.O. main poles, front and side-mounted auxiliary contact blocks, and mechanically linked auxiliary contacts compliant with Annex L of IEC 60947-5-1 and N.C. mirror contacts compliant with Annex F of IEC 60947-4-1. The control circuit can operate with either AC or DC, and a wide range of accessories is available to enhance their functionality.
