GAE75 contactors are specifically designed for DC circuit switching, where arc suppression is more challenging than in AC applications. Selecting the appropriate contactor requires consideration of the current, voltage to be interrupted, and the L/R time constant of the power circuit. These contactors feature a block-type design and are equipped with arc chutes with permanent magnets for efficient DC breaking. The three contactor paths are connected in series through two pre-installed insulated connections (25 mm²). As single-pole devices, GAE75 contactors require strict adherence to the indicated connection polarities, with terminals labeled 1L1 for positive and 2T1 for negative. They also include a side-mounted CAL 5-11 auxiliary contact block in GAE75-10-11 models. The control circuit operates on DC with standard double-winding DC coils and a factory-mounted lagging contact for inserting the holding winding. Additionally, a wide range of accessories is available to enhance functionality.
