The RC5-2/440 is an RC-type surge suppressor designed to minimize peak overvoltage and eliminate high pre-damping voltage frequencies when used with AC-operated conventional contactors with a rated control circuit voltage between 250 and 440 V AC at 50/60Hz. During the operation of inductive circuits, particularly when opening a contactor coil, stored electromagnetic energy is released in the form of voltage surges, which can reach several kilovolts. These surges can cause electronic interference, insulation breakdown, or even damage to sensitive components. The RC5-2/440 effectively suppresses these surges by rapidly clipping steep voltage fronts and reducing high-frequency disturbances. It is designed for easy installation, clipping onto the top or side of the contactor or contactor relay base without altering the device’s overall dimensions, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted performance with no operating delays.
